General Information



The campground is normally open from 1 May to 15 Oct each year. Depending on weather we are often open two weeks earlier.

Office hours: May, Sept and October 11am - 6pm.
Jun, Jul and Aug....9am - 8pm.

Check in--check out is 12:00 ( NOON ) daily.

Recreationland is situated 17 miles / 27kms east of junction 417/174 on hwy 174 then 1000 feet south of Highway 174 on Canaan Road. The campground is only 22 miles from Ottawa city center, and overlooks the beautiful Ottawa River Valley and Gatineau Hills. We have an excellent playground for children and a 20' x 4O' in ground pool for swimming. It takes only 25 minutes on the expressway to get to the city center or 10 minutes to the free park and ride terminal, then take the city bus which will bring you to the Parliament Buildings and Bus Tours.

Reservations are accepted and guaranteed with either MasterCard or Visa number and expiry date. Credit card will be charged with one night camping per site reserved in the event of a no show, or unless a minimum of one week notice of cancellation is given. We recommend reserving campsites during July and August. Confirmation if required, will be emailed upon receipt of Reservation Form.

Monthly Rate: Pay for your Month in advance, receive last 10 days of your Month free.

CAMPGROUND RULES AND REGULATIONS

Thank you for coming to Recreationland
CHECK-OUT TIME: 12 NOON SPEED LIMIT IN CAMPGROUND - 10 km per hour

Washrooms and showers are located at the west end of the office.
Showers cost 25› for approximately 3 minutes.

NO HANGING OF WASHING, ROPES, etc. FROM TREES WILL BE ALLOWED.

The laundry is located south of the office.

Washing $2.00 Drying 50› for approximately 20 minutes.

All people visiting CAMPERS must register at the office, and MUST park in the parking lot. All non-registered visitors will be considered to be trespassing . Visitors are not allowed to bring pets animals with them. Campers are responsible for their visitors' conduct while they are on campground property.
ONLY ONE AUTOMOBILE and ONE CAMPING UNIT ARE PERMITTED PER SITE
One picnic table per site. Do not remove tables from any other site. "NO" carpets allowed on the grass. Carpets KILL the grass and leave mud for the next camper.
NO LOUD RADIOS OR DISTURBING ACTIVITY is permitted at any time. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Electric power to all sites is computer-controlled and is automatically turned off at check-out time on your last day. If you are going to stay longer,
you must re-register before check-out at 12:00 noon.

Help keep our campground clean: Use our recycling bins and please deposit garbage in dumpster in the parking lot.

The campground water is supplied from a deep well, which is limited in volume. The water system is pressurized to 40 psi. In order to conserve water and
prevent damage, campers are requested to turn water off at the site tap before leaving the campground.
Recreation vehicles or other vehicles will not be washed in the campground.

SWIMMING POOL
Pool hours: Office opening hour till earliest of Office closing hour or Sunset
Anyone with long hair ( touching shoulders or longer) MUST BE TIED UP.
All pool rules will be strictly adhered to, in order to keep the pool clean and safe. Please read and obey signs posted at the pool entrance.
Only PROPER SWIMSUITS are allowed in the pool area. (No cut-off's. etc.)
No playing with the Pool safety equipment.
We hope that by observing these rules and regulations everyone will have a pleasant stay.
